3 Scrumptious Pancake Recipes

3 Scrumptious Pancake Recipes

The first Dairy Book of Home Cookery was published over 50 years ago, and people have been feeding their families from it ever since.

This cookery ‘bible’ has all those essentials in it that we turn to time-after-time.

The pancake recipe must have been used hundreds of thousands, if not millions of times.

I like to think about the fun had by so many families when cooking this recipe – the glee from the children allowed pancakes mid-week, the giggles shared when attempting to toss a pancake, the debates about which toppings are best.

Tomorrow is Shrove Tuesday, so get whisking and treat yourself to a chuckle trying to flip your pancakes.

5 Restaurant-Style Recipes for Valentine’s Day at Home

5 Restaurant-Style Recipes for Two

No, I can’t believe its Valentine’s Day tomorrow either…

However, if anything, this past year has brought my partner and me closer than ever, and I am grateful for the endless cups of tea and the support he showed when things were difficult.

To express my appreciation, I am going to prepare a lovely restaurant-style meal for two, using delicious recipes from the cookbook Just For One Or Two.

Neither of us are starter-people, so for the main: Griddled Lamb with Fresh Pesto, served with soft and creamy celeriac mash, and wholesome ratatouille. Then for dessert: Lemon Posset topped with fresh juicy berries, one of his absolute favourites!

For more inspiration on how you can treat your loved one – which is not limited to Valentine’s Day! – take a look at our recipe collection, Restaurant-Style Meals for 2.

Burns Night Haggis Samosas

Haggis Samosas

It’s Burns Night this evening, which gives us (Scottish or not) the excuse to enjoy haggis

I have the confess that I didn’t actually try haggis until last year. What a revelation! I can’t believe I have been missing out all these years.

In this Dairy Diary recipe, the haggis is mixed with carrot and rice and encased in filo pastry to make these delicious samosas.

A twist on a classic – but a delicious one.

“Some hae meat and canna eat,
And some wad eat that want it,
But we hae meat and we can eat,
And sae the Lord be thankit.”
