Celebrate New Year’s Eve in Style

Now that the busiest time of year is over, we can take some time to relax and look forward to the New Year!

The days in between Christmas and New Year, sometimes called Twixmas, is for many people who are able to, a time to relax and recharge. Curl up with a film, get out and about in the fresh air to blow the Christmas cobwebs away and work off some of the festive food or allow children to spend time playing with their Christmas gifts!

Delicious non-alcoholic festive drinks

Most of us stock up on booze in the run-up to Christmas; the ubiquitous Baileys and maybe advocaat for snowballs. The drivers are often left with unexciting lemonade or coke, which feels decidedly ‘unChristmassy’.

Here, I’ve shared four delicious festive drinks perfect for drivers (or for children) that make them feel special too. Serve with a mince pie or Christmas flapjack.

Make your own eco-friendly gift wrap and tags

Rather than buy pricey wrap and tags, why not make your own?

And do a little recycling in the process! 

Firstly, don’t throw away any old Christmas cards. When you take them down in the New Year, cut out the prettiest images from each (I use a paper cutter for nice crisp edges) and punch a hole in the corner of each image with a hole punch.

Thread a ribbon or some paper twine (double thickness) through each hole and look through itself to tie – now you have a good stash of tags.
